Speaking Opportunity: CSS Dev Conf 2017

I’m hoping to speak at CSS Dev Conf in New Orleans. I submitted two presentations and the speakers are being chosen by survey. I’ve never seen a conference do this before. The survey is several pages and takes a few minutes to complete. It will be interesting to see how many people interested in the conference (who aren’t wanting to be speakers) actually complete the surveys. Also, the questions are randomized.

Shameless self promotion: If you’re a techie and have a few minutes, go vote high for my two submissions:

ExD: Designing for Exponential Change

and

Web Accessibility: Making Websites Usable for Everyone

Web Accessibility Presentation 20170224

Will Jayroe speaking at DevNexus 2017I presented Web Accessibility: Making Websites Usable for Everyone at DevNexus!

Web Accessibility is for everyone – it means making Websites flexible enough to meet a broad range of preferences, needs and situations. This includes not only individuals with visual, auditory or physical disabilities but anyone with limited Internet connectivity, temporary disabilities (e.g. a broken arm), or changing abilities due to aging.

Thanks to everyone who attended!

Presenting at CONNECT.TECH in October

Well this is exciting! I have been accepted as a speaker at @connect_js in October! I will be presenting an original topic:

ExD: Designing for Exponential Change – An exploration of basic Design Principles and the forcing functions of Exponential Growth, Miniaturization and Dematerialization. Application of these concepts will be demonstrated using a custom set of “Method Cards” that can be sorted and discussed to inform and inspire research and design.
